Flightpath Services Inc. began as a small family-run business in 1976 by company founder Edwin Vayda. The company’s initial thrust consisted of wheel and brake overhauls. It soon expanded into life raft and life preserver inspections as well as sales of consumable products. The company’s reputation as a quality shop with a primary concern for immediate product turnaround helped the company to prosper and grow. Flightpath Services, Inc. soon found itself in a 5,000 square foot building with five full time employees. Following Ed Vayda’s retirement in 1995, leadership transitioned to John Vayda as President and Bob Nevoso as Vice President, and they continue to serve as the company’s principals today.

Flightpath began expanding the services it offered and the products it sold. The Company now was capable of, among other things, service or repair and certification of NiCad batteries, as well as inspection, overhaul and repair of survival equipment and wheel and brake overhaul and repair. Selective training and supervision programs for staff have supported Flightpath’s growth. The development of managerial and administrative positions, to support the Company’s expansion is a major key in its successful move forward.

Steady Growth and Achievement

For over 50 years in business, Flightpath Services has enjoyed a steady controlled growth. The company is now headquartered in a 30,000 square foot facility, with over 30 full-time employees. Flightpath Services the oldest and most experienced survival and wheel and brake shop In the Northeast, with quality of service unparalleled in the industry. It also provides 24 hour-a-day AOG service. In 2004, the company became the Gulfstream Authorized Distribution Facility for the Northeast. This award was achieved by our outstanding level of service and long-standing loyal customer relationships combined with our professionally supervised staff and business structure.

On July 1, 2007, Flightpath Services, Inc. was awarded EASA approval, certifying the company for the European Aviation Safety Agency. Continuing with our expansion plans, Flightpath opened a facility in the Dallas, Texas area, with the ability to service the Texarkana area. The company also achieved CAA UK Approval in February 2025. Furthermore, we are factory authorized with multiple manufacturers throughout our service area. We are planning additional facilities to be opened in new service areas, where we are factory authorized with multiple manufacturers throughout our service area as well.
